Step by step

How to make a website from your CV

You already wrote the hard part. Your CV has the headline, the roles, the dates and the skills a personal website needs. Speak2MyCV turns it into a site you can share, with an AI chat inside it that answers visitors from what you uploaded.

The AI chat page from your CV is free. The website (the builder, gallery, blog and your own domain) is on Solo and Pro.

The steps

Seven steps from CV to website

  1. Sign up and upload your CV

A PDF works. Claim your link, and your AI chat page is live straight away.

  2. Open Website Builder

On Solo or Pro, a draft site is generated from your CV. Read every section: it says what your CV says.

  3. Pick a layout and theme

Classic for a CV-shaped page, or a portfolio layout if your work is best shown as projects.

  4. Add case studies

Let the AI draft them from your CV, then edit each one until it sounds like you. Portfolio layouts need at least one.

  5. Change the wording in plain English

Describe the change, such as “make the summary shorter and less formal”, and check the result.

  6. Add photos and posts

Upload gallery images (they’re compressed and stripped of metadata) and publish blog posts.

  7. Connect your domain

Type your domain in Custom Domain and add the one or two DNS records shown at the company you bought it from.

Step 1 is free and gives you a live AI chat page on its own. Generating the website in step 2 needs Solo or Pro, and the steps after it build on that site.

Questions

Before you start

Can I make a website from my CV for free?

You can make an AI chat page from your CV for free: it answers up to 30 visitor questions a month from 1 document, with no card. The website itself (generating and editing the site, the gallery, the blog and your own domain) is on the Solo and Pro plans.

What should I upload?

A PDF of your CV works. Upload the most complete version you have, because the site says what the CV says and nothing more. On Solo and Pro you can add more documents, such as a portfolio or a capability statement, and the chat answers from all of them.

I have no projects to show. Can I still make a website from my CV?

Yes. Use the Classic layout, which is shaped like a CV: headline, summary, experience and skills. The portfolio layouts need at least one case study; without one, the page shows Classic instead.

What address does the website get?

It lives at speak2mycv.com/site/ followed by the handle you claim when you sign up. On Solo and Pro you can also put it on your own domain, such as yourname.com.

What happens when my CV changes?

Upload the new version and your AI chat answers from it. To bring the site in line, rebuild it in Website Builder or describe the change in plain English, then read the result before you share it again.

Can I hide the site later?

Yes. You can change or remove anything from your dashboard at any time. If you only want it out of search results, switch search indexing off on the Page tab: the page stays live for anyone with the link.
